A little about Essential Oils!

Imagine yourself walking through a flower garden. You brush up against a rose, you faintly smell the beautiful floral scent. You bend over to totally take in the smell of these flowers and encounter an aroma that stops you in your tracks. This, my lovely, is essential oils!

These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are the very essence of the seeds, bark, flowers, fruit, leaves, stems, nuts, roots or resin of a plant or tree that they are extracted from., and just one drop contains a complex network of molecules that deliver myriad effects to the body. They are entirely and utterly natural. They can be both beautiful and powerfully fragrant. Essential oils give plants their distinctive smells and protects these plants and plays a role in plant pollination. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to these plants and their beautiful fragrance, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatments and health care practices.

During my journey with these gifts I have learnt that my health is my own responsibility, I am empowering myself by the revelation that health is an act of self-love and not something that I should focus on merely to be free of sickness. Having an abundant life means that you enjoy the fullest expression of health in all areas of your life, spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, financial and social. If your physical body is not performing how it should be, it’s going to weigh you down emotionally and cause strain. The foods we eat, the drinks we consume, the supplements we take, the medicines we use, the thoughts we think, the emotions we carry around, the feelings you have, the stressors in your life – all of these contribute to or diminish your experience of an abundant life. Interesting enough essential oils can help you find a balance.

It’s not as innovative of a discovery as you may imagine. Hippocrates, who is considered the father of medicine, invented therapeutic treatments based on the principle that the body had the necessary tools to heal itself.
